Cineteatro Louletano, Espaço do Tempo and Centro Cultural Vila Flor launch a program to support artistic creation

Espaço do Tempo, in Montemor-o-Novo, Cineteatro Louletano, in Loulé, and Centro Cultural Vila Flor, in Guimarães, launched a new program to support Artistic Creation in the area of ​​Performing Arts called Projeto CASA, as part of a residency of long duration, as well as the respective premiere, premiere and subsequent presentation. Applications are open until September 11

Each support, in the amount of 25 thousand euros, the support includes a ten-week residency with all accommodation and food expenses included.

According to the promoters, the CASA Project «seeks to be a stimulus to creation in the areas of dance, theatre, performance and disciplinary intersections and a contribution to support creation in these areas».

This programme, they continue, «aims to contribute to the development and sustainability of the paths of national creators or those residing in Portugal. It also seeks to encourage the experimentation and renewal of stage languages, proposing a creative process based on long-term residencies, responding to the technical and production needs of the selected artists».

Espaço do Tempo ensures the reception in residence for the selected projects, for a period of eight weeks, which includes the respective preview. After this period, the project team will have two more weeks of preparation in residence (either at the Vila Flor Cultural Center or at the Cineteatro Louletano) including the respective absolute premiere, after which they must present their creation in the remaining co-producing entity.

During the creation, preview, premiere and show period, all accommodation and meal expenses will be guaranteed, as well as travel expenses. The rehearsal spaces will be technically equipped, while the artists will also benefit from technical support and production.

In this opening notice, two projects will be selected that should be presented in 2023. The first, oriented towards theater and disciplinary crossings, will premiere at the Gil Vicente Festivals, at the Vila Flor Cultural Center (Guimarães), between May 29th and 10th. June.

The second project selected, in the area of ​​dance and disciplinary intersections, will premiere at Cineteatro Louletano, as part of the opening of the season, between 11 and 22 September.

The jury, belonging to the three partner institutions of the CASA Project, will be made up of Rui Horta, Pedro Barreiro, Rui Torrinha, Dália Paulo and Paulo Silva.

Applications opened on the 21st of July and close on the 11th of September. The application form is available on the websites of the three institutions.

The results will be announced on the 22nd of September.
