The Centro Ciência Viva (CCV) in Tavira had a “new” director between the 14th and 16th of July. Ivone Fachada, who heads the Bragança CCV, was only in the Algarve for a few days, but she had time to open the temporary exhibition “BI: Biosphere Integrated” and to create dynamics with the team.

Ivone Fachada came to the Algarve as part of the initiative “Today who is in charge is me”, organized by the network of Ciência Viva Centers and which aims to exchange directors between the various entities across the country.

In the same way that the director of the Centro Ciência Viva de Bragança traveled to the Algarve, Ana Ramos, director of the Centro Ciência Viva de Tavira, traveled to Constância, where she worked together with the local CCV team in activities related to biodiversity, climate, sustainability and also astronomy.

Among the various activities carried out and the exchange of experiences and knowledge with the team, during her stay at the Centro Ciência Viva de Tavira, Ivone Fachada also opened the temporary exhibition “BI Biosphere Integrated” «which brings together unique moments captured by the lens of the renowned photographer of nature Pedro Rego».

«This selection of images is accompanied by an “identity card”, so that everyone is aware of how unique and important each species is in maintaining biodiversity. The images also intend to demonstrate the existing relationship between the fauna and flora and the ecosystems where they are inserted, exploring and reflecting the themes of the promotion and conservation of nature, in an identity, symbiotic and fascinating journey between Africa and Portugal», according to the CCV. from Tavira.

This photography exhibition was developed by the Centro Ciência Viva de Bragança, within the scope of the project “Scientific Routes for an intercultural integration” financed by the National Agency Ciência Viva (INT-349, INTEGRA) and is on display at the Centro Ciência Viva de Tavira until 30 of September.
