Active cases of Covid-19 continue to decline in the Algarve

There were 12 more deaths in the last week

Active cases of Covid-19 in the Algarve continue to decline and, since a week ago, the number has dropped from 7.447 to 6.688 (-759), according to the Civil Protection Commission of the Algarve Region, in its weekly report of balance of the epidemiological situation in the region, released this Friday, 22 July.

Over the last week, there were 2442 new cases of Covid-19 in the Algarve, 3189 people recovered from the disease and 12 more deaths were recorded.

Since the beginning of the pandemic, there are now a total of 221.865 confirmed cases, 214.283 recovered and 884 deaths.

The number of people needing admission to hospitals has dropped significantly since July 15, from 95 to 61. Of these patients, two are in the Intensive Care Unit and two are ventilated.

Also according to the report, the Municipal Vaccination Centers in Albufeira continue to operate, Faro/Penha, Lagoa, Lagos and Tavira.

In the remaining municipalities (Alcoutim, Aljezur, Castro Marim, Loulé, Monchique, Olhão, Portimão, São Brás de Alportel, Silves, Vila do Bispo and Vila Real de Santo António), vaccines are given at Health Centres.
