Active cases of Covid-19 fell in the Algarve

The Municipal Vaccination Centers in Albufeira continue to operate, Faro/ Penha, Lagoa, Lagos, Loulé and Tavira

The Algarve has 1517 fewer cases of Covid-19 than a week ago, revealed the Civil Protection Commission of the Algarve Region, in its weekly report on the epidemiological situation in the region, released this Friday, 15 July. 

If a week ago there were 8957 active infections, now the number has dropped to 7447.

Regarding new cases, the region recorded 3289 more, bringing the regional total accumulated since the beginning of the pandemic to 219.423.

As for deaths due to Covid-19, there were 15 more in the last week.

This bulletin also shows that there was a high number of recovered, which explains the drop in active cases.

 

 

Thus, according to the Civil Protection Commission of the Algarve Region, there are 4791 more people who have recovered from Covid-19, a total of 211.104 since the beginning of the pandemic.

Regarding hospitalizations, there was a slight increase, with 10 more patients in the ward (total of 95) and five more in intensive care (7 more). There is only one person ventilated.

Also according to the report, the Municipal Vaccination Centers in Albufeira continue to operate, Faro/Penha, Lagoa, Lagos, Loulé and Tavira.

In the remaining municipalities (Alcoutim, Aljezur, Castro Marim, Monchique, Olhão, Portimão, São Brás de Alportel, Silves, Vila do Bispo and Vila Real de Santo António), vaccines are given at Health Centers.

 

 

According to the report on the monitoring of the epidemiological situation by the Ricardo Jorge Institute, the “number of new cases of infection per 100 inhabitants, accumulated in the last seven days, was 000 cases, with a decreasing trend at national level. The incidence in the Algarve region showed a stable trend, while in the other health regions there was a decreasing trend».

Moreover, the R(t), index of transmissibility, «presented a value of less than 1 at the national level and in all regions of the continent, with the exception of the Algarve region, which indicates a decreasing trend of new cases».

Mortality also shows the same “decreasing trend”.
