Carvoeiro: The One on Wine Spectator's list of best restaurants

“Our menu focuses on Portuguese wines and, in particular, those from the Algarve”

O The One Restaurant, located at the Tivoli Carvoeiro Algarve Resort, celebrates again, in 2022, the excellence of its wine list with the new Award of Excellence awarded by the North American magazine Wine Spectator, integrating the exclusive list of 3200 restaurants distributed in more than 70 countries and territories, of which only seven are in Portugal. The Algarve restaurant had already been awarded in 2020.

The Wine Spectator awards recognize and distinguish the wine lists for the variety and quality of the suggestions presented, for the harmony between the wine selection and the menu and, also, for the quality-price ratio.

The Excellence Awards winning restaurants offer at least 90 wine selections and satisfy the most demanding wine connoisseurs.

The One sommelier, Francisco Meira, comments: “It is a privilege to receive this prestigious international award, which recognizes the quality of the wine selection that we present daily to our customers”.

“Our menu focuses on Portuguese nectars and, in particular, those from the Algarve, in a diverse selection of wines, from the most classic to the most recent novelties from the producers. Altogether, we suggest approximately 160 national and international references, with an excellent quality-price ratio and in perfect harmony with Executive Chef Bruno Augusto’s menu”, added the sommelier.

 

The landscape of the Carvoeiro cliff is perfectly combined with the fascinating wine cellar of The One Restaurant, offering a true gastronomic experience.

In addition to the different proposals to accompany the menu, the wine experience also includes special tasting menus with pairing of wines and special tastings with national and regional producers.

The flavors of The One Restaurant's menu are also inspired by the Algarve and the region's traditional products, maintaining their authenticity and respecting what is produced at each time of year.

The summer menu maintains the most successful dishes, such as the Pregado no Forno for two or the Octopus in Tempura with Malandrinho de Cockle Rice, and suggests some novelties such as the starters of Foie Gras with Rhubarb, Peach, Bela Luz and Pistachio or the Carabinero with Avocado, Coconut and Passion Fruit.

The One Restaurant is open every day for dinner, between 19:00 and 22:00.
