Candidates for Higher Education can take Mathematics mini-courses at UAlg

The University of Algarve will provide, from the 8th to the 16th of September, free mini-courses to help prepare for admission to Higher Education. The objective is to «complement or reinforce the training of Mathematics in Secondary Education», explains the UAlg.

Until August 19, students from all over the country can apply, as long as they have applied for Higher Education.

Candidates will be ranked in order of registration, with priority being given to those who have applied for Higher Education (school year 2022/23) and placed a UAlg course as their first option, but who have not yet attended another course in the area of ​​Mathematics. (non-degree conferring) at this University.

These mini-courses will address various topics related to Mathematics, such as Study of functions, Statistics, Probability, Solving equations and inequalities, among others.

Classes will be taught by professors from the University of Algarve, face-to-face (with a limited number of places) and/or online, depending on the number of students and their geographical location.

The mini-courses are an initiative of the “Clube da Matemática” of the University of Algarve, which also accompanies students throughout their academic career.

Enrollment runs until August 19th, and classes start on September 8th.
