Alcantarilha has a new Association for the Defense of Cultural and Natural Heritage, created with the main objective of «contributing to the defense and recovery of the most significant values of the historical, cultural and environmental heritage».
ALDEPA was created on the 22nd of April and, on the 21st of May, the first General Assembly was held, where the first governing bodies were voted and elected.
The association's management is composed of Carlos José dos Santos Patricio, president, Helena Bárbara de Sousa Montes Rodrigues Marques Dias, secretary, João Manuel Neves da Encarnação, treasurer, Afonso Maria dos Santos Fernandes, member, José Gregório Cabrita Negrão, member, Sofia Margarida Aguiar dos Santos, alternate, and Manuel José Coelho Rodrigues, alternate.
The supervisory board includes Jose Eduardo Mendes Grade, chairman, Vitor Manuel Gonçalves dos Santos, member, Nuno Manuel Guerreiro de Campos Inácio, member, Pedro Miguel do Nascimento Vitorino, alternate, and Vivelinda Maria da Conceição Gaspar, alternate.
Sérgio dos Santos Brito is president of the General Assembly, Florbela de Fatima Russo Paulino Reis Cabrita and
Joaquim Manuel Neto dos Santos are vowels.
