The Union of Parishes of Faro, again organized, on June 10, a tournament to commemorate Minibasketball Day.
The action aimed to «foster sport among young people and promote the sport» and took place in a partnership with the Algarve Basketball Association, Football Club “Os Bonjoanenses” Faro and Sporting Clube Farense, with the support of the Municipality of Faro.
This tournament brought Faro teams from all over the Algarve, with representation in the mini 8, mini 10 and mini 1 levels, in games that took place in the Pavilions of SC Farense, Municipal da Penha and Municipal D. Afonso III.
The young athletes were also able to count on parallel activities that were promoted by the Petanque Club of Faro, Humanitarian Association of Firefighters of Faro – Cruz Lusa and by the Nutritionist of the União das Freguesias de Faro.
To end the day, the approximately 400 participants, including athletes and technical teams, paraded through downtown, joining the steps of the Cathedral of Faro, where some clubs were distinguished.
