Portimão Municipal Theater will receive Pedro Jóia Trio

On the 9th of July, at 22:00

The Grande Auditorio do TEMPO – Teatro Municipal de Portimão welcomes the Pedro Jóia Trio from 22:00 pm on July 9, for a journey through fado, flamenco, Brazilian popular music and jazz.

The trio is composed of Pedro Jóia on classical guitar, Norton Daiello on bass and João Frade on accordion, and will be reinforced in this show with the participation of a special guest, Marcelo Araújo on percussion.

On stage, the musicians will propose an incursion through Brazil and the memory of the Portuguese guitar, fado and flamenco, highlighting classics such as “Verdes Anos”, by Carlos Paredes, or “Bulerias”, by Paco de Lúcia.

Born in 1970 and descended from a well-known family in Portimão, Pedro Jóia developed, from a very young age, his studies on classical and flamenco guitar.

Winner of two Carlos Paredes Awards, the guitarist formed «a sophisticated instrumental language, whose musical universe is the Iberian and Mediterranean culture», says the Portimão City Council

Solo, in a trio, as a soloist in orchestras or chamber formations, throughout an already extensive career and with a very unique approach to his art, he has played alongside great interpreters of current music, such as Resistance, Mariza, Yamandú Costa , Gilberto Gil, Ney Matogrosso, Simone, Bobby McFerrin, among others.

Tickets for the concert start at 15 euros and are on sale online here  and at the TEMPO box office, open from Tuesday to Saturday, from 13 pm to 00 pm, and on show nights until the respective start.
