Secondary Pinheiro e Rosa hosted a meeting of international partners

This project is part of the School Cultural Project of the Pinheiro e Rosa School Group, within the scope of the National Arts Plan.

The Pinheiro e Rosa Secondary School, in Faro, hosted, until this Tuesday, June 28, a meeting of partners from the project "EXPLORE+ creative exploration of curiosity for innovative transdisciplinary, STEAM and social learning", within the scope of the European Program Erasmus+ Strategic Partnerships a Creativity (KA227).

A balance of the activities carried out (study visits to Faro, Cesis – Latvia – and Chemnitz – Germany), as well as a project status.

Among the activities that still need to be implemented are the organization of three Educational Art and Science Fairs (to be held between February and May of next year), the creation of a STEAM Activities Manual and an Online Course (MOOC) to present the Manual , in addition to holding a final conference as part of the Timisoara European Capital of Culture 2023 program to be held at the end of the project (May).

With partners from cities that are involved in applications for the European Capital of Culture (Timisoara- Romania and Chemnitz- Germany, already defined as European Capitals of Culture in 2023 and 2025 respectively, and Faro and Cesis- Latvia former candidates for 2027) this project links schools and civil society, in a strategic partnership, to implement STEAM methodologies (from the English acronym for Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Mathematics) in an interdisciplinary work perspective of the curriculum school and the introduction of creative and artistic methodologies in the educational process.

Em Faro, the partnership includes the Escola Secundária Pinheiro e Rosa and the Zer0 Museum, at the invitation of the structure dedicated to the preparation of the proposal for Faro the European Capital of Culture 2027.

Based on the Essential Learning of the different subjects of the Scientific-Humanistic Courses, over two academic years activities are being developed, tested and systematized in the Secondary School classes of AE Pinheiro e Rosa, using the STEAM methodology, with the support of the Zer0 Museum as part of its cultural mediation work for Digital Art.
