A 42-year-old man, suspected of having started a fire, last Saturday, June 25, with a lighter next to the EN125, in Tavira, was in preventive detention.
The man, who still tried to flee, was arrested in the act.
"After police investigations, it was possible to detect and intercept the suspect, who in the meantime had already started another fire and was preparing to set off the third in the area", says the GNR.
