The deadline for applications for the 4th edition of the Municipal Volunteering Award, in Portimão, starts on 1 July and the main novelty this year is the increase from two to four monetary awards related to the award.
From now on, the jury will distinguish the four best projects, two in the Singular category and another two in the Collective category, corresponding to a first and second place, to which a pecuniary support of 6.500 euros and 3.500 euros, respectively, will be awarded, for the development of each of the projects.
There is even room for an honorable mention in each category.
The Municipal Volunteering Award seeks to encourage the exercise of social responsibility and active citizenship, and candidate projects must promote the improvement of the quality of life of children, young people, the elderly, citizens with disabilities, the homeless, migrants, ethnic groups and other people in need. vulnerable situation, by creating a measurable impact on the lives of recipients.

The selection of the four finalist candidacies takes place in November and the awarding of the prizes will take place on 5 December, International Volunteering Day, in a public ceremony promoted by the Municipality of Portimão.
