The parking lot on Avenida 5 de Outubro, the Olhão waterfront, will start operating with a new tariff, as of July, the City Council has just announced. The paid parking hours will increase, from 9 am to 00 pm, every day of the week.
«This change, which meets a desire expressed for years by the entrepreneurs of this which is one of the main arteries of the city, aims to promote the rotation of the parking lot, while discouraging those who use the avenue to park for periods that often extend for days, while they vacation on the islands", explains the municipality.
In this way, «people from Olhão and visitors gain, who now have parking spaces in the heart of one of the streets with the most commerce in the city, next to the Municipal Markets and the gardens of the riverside area».
The objective is for the parking on Avenida 5 de Outubro to work «on a short-term basis», leaving the longer parking space for the two large parking spaces: next to the Hotel Real Marina, to the west, and in Bela Olhão, to the east, the latter opened in June and available until the end of September.
Also part of the parking lot on Avenida 16 de Junho, which is being requalified and which will increase the number of parking lots to 360, will also be available during the month of June, adds the Câmara de Olhão.
