Guilherme Limão won again the competition “Colors and Shapes of Our Artists”, promoted by the Chamber of Albufeira, with the painting “O Retorno”.
The final decision was taken last Tuesday, June 21, by the panel of judges: Vanessa Barragão (textile artist), Filipe Neves (graffitter) and Rui Gregório (photographer) who analyzed the 31 works in the competition, resulting from the registration of 19 participants.
Guilherme Limão won this contest again (he had already won 1st prize in 2018 and 2nd place in the 2020 edition), with the painting “O Retorno”, followed by Bruno Ceriz, with the drawing “Benémola”.
“Metoposaurus”, the design by Maria Oliveira, closed the podium of this competition that has been organized by the Municipality of Albufeira for 25 years. Also noteworthy are the honorable mentions given to the works “Homem com Cabeça de Arquiteto”, by Bruno Grilo, and “Falésias de Albufeira”, by Manuel Rodrigues Ribeiro.
In addition to these works, the following works were also selected to be part of the exhibition that will be on display at the João Bailote Municipal Gallery in August and September: “O Pescador e a Montanheira”, sculpture, by Anabela Alambre, “Mina de Sal”, painting, by Maria Bárbara Reis, “Hora da Boca”, painting, by Brian Edward Mehl, “Winter in the mountains”, painting, by Susana Gonçalves, “Lost Orange Oleander”, painting, by Vera Martins, “City Lights – Albufeira ”, painting, by José Armando Dâmaso, “Peneco”, painting, by Ana Luísa Soares, “Abelharuco”, painting, by Evandro Leite, “AMO”, sculpture, by Júlio Antão, “Abranda”, painting, by Hugo Santos, “Imaginarte”, painting, by Sónia Balão Fernandes, “Ilda”, painting, by António Alvélua Correia, “Wild Orchid”, painting, by Sílvia Serapio and “Trilho Algarvensis”, painting, by Rosa Barriga.
The works will be on display from August 12 to September 16, and can be appreciated from Monday to Saturday, from 9:30 am to 21:30 pm and from 13:30 pm to 17:30 pm, with the exception of Sundays and holidays.
