Music with vegetables, conferences and dance animate Cineteatro Louletano this month

Last initiative of the month is scheduled for June 29

This month, Cineteatro Louletano hosts theater, dance, music, art for children and even a workshop to learn how to make music with vegetables.

The initiatives start this Thursday, June 2nd, and end on the last Wednesday of the month, June 29th.

Today, June 2, The Vegetable Orchestra will hold a workshop that teaches how to make instruments with a courgette or a carrot as a starting point.

On Friday, the 3rd, there is a (re)interpretation of “Memorial do Convento” that includes a residence with a school in Quarteira and which culminates with a ballet in three acts by Companhia Dança em Diálogos. This is at the time of the centenary of the writer José Saramago, Nobel Prize in Literature. There is a session for schools and, on June 4th, another for the general public.

On the 5th, at 17:00, the Cineteatro will give you music, with the return of Manel Cruz. The lead singer of Ornatos Violeta, Pluto, Foge Foge Bandido and Supernada is back with “Vida Nova”, an album composed mainly on the ukulele.

At 11 at night, Joana von Mayer Trindade and Hugo Calhim Cristóvão bring an irreverent dance show to Cineteatro Louletano. “Fertilization and relief on this irreducible ground where with joy I rebel” is a piece based on the philosophical concept of irreduction.

On the 12th, Algarve guitarist Ricardo J. Martins brings to Loulé the new album “Escapismo”, a reflection on the attitude of escape from everyday life or a specific reality.

In June, French films are also on display, in a cycle organized by the Alliance Française Algarve that lasts throughout the year (except July and August) at the Solar da Música Nova Auditorium.

This time, on the 14th, “Petit Paysan” appears on the screen, a 2016 drama by Hubert Charuel that introduces us to Pierre, a cow farmer who will do anything to save the animals when an epidemic breaks out that jeopardizes their lives. – and his.

On the 16th, Companhia de Música Teatral brings us “Aguário”, a piece that is based, as the name implies, on water. A set of three autonomous experiences, in an artistic and educational journey for contemplation and enjoyment, but also for environmental awareness. This play includes workshops at the EB1 D. Francisca de Aragão school, in Quarteira, from the 6th to the 9th and later on the 13th of June.

This is RHI Think, Revolution, Hope, Imagination, organized by the Arte Institute based in New York and led by a Portuguese woman, Ana Ventura. Also noteworthy is the showcase of the bands “Bloody Sam”, “Suricata” and “Recante” and for four conferences: “Portugal is culturally entrepreneurial”, “How to Produce for Culture and Tourism”, “Tourism and Culture United – Brazil Case Studies” and “The International Cultural Market through the voice of some of the most world renowned programmers”.

José Laginha and Marlene Vilhena present “A request – please – give me a copy of God”, a piece that revolves around Amália and Fado. This piece also includes a workshop at the Ginásio dos Espanhóis, to make known part of the creative process, which crosses several universes, including that of Mário Laginha, Gonçalo M Tavares and Clarice Lispector, among others.

On the 26th, there is a theater for children and families, in a production by the Figo Lampo Association – “The magic adventure of Mi Nhoca”, the story of two worms dissatisfied with their daily lives who meet on stage to embark on a magical journey in search of your life purpose. As is the hallmark of this association, the piece highlights the importance of environmental sustainability.

Also for June 26 is the rescheduling of the play “Adágio para Três Irmãs”, by another local association, Folha de Medronho.

Finally, on June 29, there will be an international show that opens the MED Festival, at Cineteatro Louletano. In this performance, the Portuguese fado singer crosses her voice with Spanish producer Raül Refree, who has worked with Silvia Perez Cruz, Lee Ranaldo or Rosalía.
