Event «exceeded all expectations», being considered «the best edition ever»

More than six thousand tastings of the best wines from Lagoa, the region and the country were held over the four days of the Lagoa Wine Show, which ended yesterday in this Algarve city.

According to the City Council, which organized the event, it «exceeded all expectations», being considered «the best edition ever».

«Expectations for this edition of the Lagoa Wine Show were high, due to the enormous commitment of the municipality and after two years of interregnum, but all of them were exceeded, given the way the event took place», said Luís Encarnação, Mayor of the City Council. from Lagoa.

«We are very proud, but already working hard so that the next event, Carvoeiro Black&White, is also a great success», added the mayor.

Between the 9th and 12th of June, thousands of people passed through the Lagoa Wine Show, including national and foreign residents of this region of the Algarve, but also many tourists who got to know some of the best examples of current wine production in the Algarve region.

To accompany a good wine, the best of our gastronomy could not be missing. In this way, the Lagoa Wine Show was attended by renowned chefs such as Bruno Augusto, Executive Chef of the Tivoli Carvoeiro Restaurant, Margarida Vargues, Chef of the Tertúlia Algarvia Restaurant, Faro, Nuno Martins, Executive Chef at Numa Restaurante, Portimão, and sub-chef Ricardo Luz, at Al Sud restaurant in Odiáxere, Lagos.

As far as music is concerned, the edition of the Lagoa Wine Show ended with the performance of Ana Moura, who completely filled the streets of Lagoa, closed for this purpose, where musicians such as Sangre Ibérico, Luís Trigacheiro, Sara Correia also passed. , among others, in a total of sixteen musical shows.

According to the municipality, «the Lagoa Wine Show is already one of the most emblematic wine shows in the south of the country, where, along with music, the most renowned producers from the various wine regions are present, with special emphasis on wines from the region. from the Algarve. An eclectic and particularly inviting showcase, between new market launches and ever-present references».

After the great success of the Lagoa Wine Show, the Municipality of Lagoa is now leaving for Brussels, together with the Municipalities of Albufeira, Lagos and Silves, to defend the candidacy for the European City of Wine – Algarve Golden Terrior, where it will compete with the Portuguese candidatures. from the Douro Region and the Vinho Verde Region.
