the memorial of tribute to the three fishermen from the Algarve, who saved six crew members of the American Navy who had crashed in the Ria Formosa during World War II, is already being installed in Largo de São Francisco, in Faro.
The sculptor Toin Adams, who lives near Boliqueime, is the author of this project.
Michael Pease, a 90-year-old Briton, always felt that history should be told through some memorial, and he managed to fulfill that wish.
The memorial was to be installed next to the Manuel Bivar Garden, but Largo de São Francisco ended up being the final location chosen.
