Photographic Exhibition “Oficinas no Cabo do Mundo” arrived in Almancil

Can be visited until June 11

The Photographic Exhibition “Oficinas no Cabo do Mundo”, which shows the Fortress of Sagres through the eyes of people between 16 and 85 years old, will be at Casa do Lago – Jardim das Comunidades, in Almancil, until 11 June. 

The Exhibition is the result of a project that involved students from the Tourism Technician Course at the Cândido Guerreiro de Alte Professional School and seniors residing in that parish.

Together, students and inhabitants «embarked on a journey of discovery, exploration, learning, sharing experiences, exchanging knowledge, sharing affections and artistic creation about the Fortress of Sagres», says the In Loco association in communicated.

It is through the eyes of 23 young people, aged between 16 and 85, that the Photographic Exhibition gives visitors the opportunity to get to know the Fortress of Sagres.

“Oficinas no Cabo do Mundo” has been passing through the Algarve region since August 2021 and arrived this Thursday, June 2, in Almancil, where it will stay until June 11, at Casa do Lago – Jardim das Comunidades.

The exhibition can be visited every working day from 9:00 am to 12:30 pm and from 14:00 pm to 17:30 pm. On Saturdays, Sundays and holidays the opening hours are from 14:00 to 17:00.

The project, based on an original idea by Isa Catarina Mateus, was developed from May to October 2021 within the scope of the Program for the Promotion and Valorization of Monuments (DiVaM), of the Regional Directorate of Culture of the Algarve, and promoted by a partnership formed by the In Loco Association, the Alte Parish Council, the Alte Professional School, CIPRL and its Cândido Guerreiro Professional School, the Alte Parish Community Development and Animation Center, the Alte People's House/Alte Youth.

 

The funding came from the DiVaM Program (Dissemination and Enhancement of Monuments), by DRCAlgarve and was supported by the Loulé City Council – Municipal Museum – Cândido Guerreiro and Condes de Alte Museological Pole, the Algarve Tourism Region, the National Federation of Film clubs and the International Federation of Film Clubs.

The exhibition will trip 500 days, passing through: Fortress of Sagres, Cândido Guerreiro Museum and Condes de Alte; Rosmaninho Restaurant – Sarnadas/Alte, Portuguese Institute of Sport and Youth, Regional Directorate of Culture of the Algarve, Salir Tourist Office, the Parish Councils of Quarteira, Boliqueime, Salir, Almancil, Ameixial, Union of Parishes of Querença, Tôr and Benafim, Municipality of São Brás de Alportel, CineTeatro de São Brás, Editora Sul, Sol e Sal, University of Algarve – Portimão Campus Library and Portimão Campus Library, CCDR Algarve, MAR Shopping Algarve and Vila Interpretation Center do Bispo, the municipality where the exhibition was presented for the first time and where it will end on the last day of the year.
