The Meeting of Popular Poetry and Amateur Fado is back on the 3rd of July, from 14 pm, at the Cultural Center of Vila do Bispo.
Popular poet Manuel Rafael will once again bring together friends from the Algarve and Baixo Alentejo, with a common taste for poetry and fado. The event, which will take place at the Vila do Bispo Cultural Center, has the participation of 22 popular poets and five amateur fadistas.
Manuel Rafael is from the municipality of Odemira and has lived in the municipality of Vila do Bispo since he was 11 years old. He was in the Overseas War, in Angola, for two years and two months.
Throughout his life he worked as a farmer and driver, from which he is now retired. He writes poetry from a very young age and has nine books already published.
