The singer Carla Pontes has released the second single, entitled “Andorinha”, which will be part of the album “O Mar em Mim”, her first album of original Portuguese music, which will be released on July 1st.
“O Mar em Mim” includes 12 new songs, after years of projects in the field of classical music.
«The theme “Swallow” tells us about a condition, of nostalgia, of places that call us, of dreams that take time to come true, of the nature of our being and of listening to the call. Sometimes we feel that it is too late, that we are not capable. Sometimes we feel that we can no longer fly because we have a broken wing, but keeping the dream gives us wide wings»
This is the second single from the debut album by Portuguese soprano Carla Pontes, in a neo-fadista aesthetic, with world music accents and a contemporary touch with electronic elements. However, classical instruments are still present mixed together.
O album "The Sea in Me" will be launched on the 1st of July, with a concert scheduled for the 30th of July, at 21 pm, at the Carlos do Carmo Auditorium, in Lagoa.
The presentation concert has the support of the Municipality of Lagoa (Algarve) and the cultural association Ideias do Levante. Admission is free, but required book in advance by clicking here.

LETTER | SWALLOW
If I were a swallow
Broken wing, migrant
No longer having faith in my flight
It would
If that place in my heart
Distant
miss the call
The longing, once hidden
in solitude
That doesn't risk a horizon dream
Keeping the dream gives me wings, wide
And I know that I will return to my place
And heal my cry
in this corner
trapped soul,
imagining my condition
no feathers
and lover of the air
And I'm fantasizing the arrival
There where the dawn always rises
