The Algarve Accordion Association will open its new headquarters on the 2nd of July, at 15:00, in Olhos de Água (Albufeira), at Rua da Igreja, Edifício Vila Mar, Lote 11.
The inauguration will be attended by members and friends of the association and various entities that accompany the development of the Algarve region.
The event will begin with the unveiling of the plaque alluding to the new headquarters, followed by a formal welcome session and some musical moments to the sound of the accordion.
The Algarve Accordion Association was founded on June 8, 2005 with the aim of developing cultural activities related to the Accordion and representing its members before national and international entities.
From the 3rd to the 9th of November 2019, the Algarve Accordion Association organized the 69th World Accordion Trophy, considered by specialized critics as the most prestigious event in the art of playing this instrument. The event was held in the city of Loulé with the support of various entities.
From the 15th of May to the 19th of June 2021, the Algarve Accordion Association organized the first edition of the Albufeira'21 Concert Cycle. The concert cycle was broadcast in Live Streaming by “Mais Algarve” and had the participation of several musicians from the Algarve and nationally.
Currently, the association has the participation and involvement of renowned accordionists, having already founded the Orquestra de Acordeão do Algarve and plays the role of selecting Portuguese candidates for the World Accordion Trophy.
