António Zambujo will perform on the stage of the Revelim de St. António on the Day of the Municipality of Castro Marim, June 24, at 22:00.
On the eve of the holiday, June 23, the traditional Arraial de São João takes place again, in Praça 1º de Maio. From 20 pm, the sardine feast begins, but the highlight is the awarding of the prizes of the XXI Mastros Competition, one of the traditions of Castromarines that counts on the work of local associations and local clubs.
The Municipality's day, June 24th, starts at 9:00 am, with the Hastear da Bandeira and the Rua da Banda Musical Castromarinense. A mass follows at the Igreja Matriz de N. Sra. of the Martyrs.
The formal session takes place at the Castro Marim Municipal Library, at 11 am, and brings back to the debate a structural problem that 00 years ago marked the political agenda in the Algarve – the management of water resources.
«With this permanent concern, the Municipality of Castro Marim has been working on several fronts, aiming at optimizing the water efficiency of the territory. Among the main measures are the implementation of the Measurement and Control Zones (ZMC's) in the municipality, investment made by the Environmental Fund and in close collaboration with the APA, the development of a financial engineering program also with the APA, Águas do Algarve and the Quinta do Vale and Castro Marim Golf courses, so that by the end of the year the courses will be able to be irrigated using treated water from the VRSA WWTP», the municipality said in a statement.
The celebrations continue into the night, but already on the stage of the Ravelin de St. Anthony. The duo André Ramos and Emanuel Marçal will open, at 21:00 pm, the concert by António Zambujo, who debuts on the stages of Castro Marim with his latest album “António Zambujo Voz e Violão”, inspired by one of the albums of his life “João Voz e Violão”, album by João Gilberto released in 1999.
