Algarve has 9894 active cases of Covid-19

There was a decrease in active cases, compared to the last data available, two weeks ago

The Algarve has 9894 active cases of Covid-19, revealed today, Friday, the 17th, the Civil Protection Commission of the Algarve Region, in its weekly report assessing the epidemiological situation in the region.

In relation to the latest data released by this entity, dated June 3, there is a decrease from the 11.200 active cases then registered to the 9894 that were at 24:00 yesterday, June 16th (-1306).

In two weeks - the comparison that is possible, given that CREPC did not provide data last week -, 9069 new cases were diagnosed, which made the cumulative total since the beginning of the pandemic exceed two hundred and reach 203.363. .

As for deaths, there were 20 in two weeks. In the same period, 10.355 people recovered from the disease.

In hospitals, there are four fewer people hospitalized (50 in total). In Intensive Care there are four patients, the same number as two weeks ago. There are two people ventilated (+1).

Also according to the report, the Municipal Vaccination Centers in Albufeira continue to operate, Faro/Penha, Lagoa, Lagos, Loulé, Olhão, Portimão, Silves and Tavira.

In the remaining municipalities (Alcoutim, Aljezur, Castro Marim, Monchique, São Brás de Alportel, Vila do Bispo and Vila Real de Santo António), vaccines are given at Health Centers.
