Algarve has 11.200 active cases of Covid-19

Two weeks ago, the number of active cases was below 10

The Algarve has 11.200 active cases of Covid-19, reveals the weekly report of the Civil Protection Commission of the Algarve Region released this Friday. 

The data take into account the numbers collected until midnight on June 24 and show that, in two weeks, the number of active cases in this region rose from 00 to 2 (plus 9.922).

Compared to the report of the 20th of May (the last to be sent to our newsroom), it should also be noted that, in two weeks, the Algarve recorded 11.660 new cases of Covid-19 and 22 deaths.

In two weeks, there were also 10.360 recovered.

As for hospitals, there are five more people hospitalized – a total of 54. In the last two weeks, the number of patients with Covid-19 admitted to the Intensive Care Unit was also maintained (4 in total), however the number decreased. of ventilated patients (from 4 to 1).

Also according to the report, the Municipal Vaccination Centers in Albufeira continue to operate, Faro/Penha, Lagoa, Lagos, Loulé, Olhão, Portimão, Silves and Tavira.

In the remaining municipalities (Alcoutim, Aljezur, Castro Marim, Monchique, São Brás de Alportel, Vila do Bispo and Vila Real de Santo António), vaccines are given at Health Centers.

Portimão was, until two weeks ago, the only city that had an exceptional testing site, but it is no longer in operation.
