The story of cod will be told in Faro

On the 8th of June, the session is at 15:00 and, the following day, at 21:00

The history of cod will be told through theater and dance, on the 8th and 9th of June, at Teatro Lethes, in Faro.

This is a piece that talks about cod «from the perspective of the fisherman and society»… to the point of view «of the fish itself».

With artistic direction and direction by Tommy Luther, “Acts of Cod” «is a multidisciplinary piece that crosses theatre, dance, mime, puppetry, video and music to explore the historical, cultural and environmental impact of fishing and consumption of cod in the world», says the organization.

“If the future of cod is uncertain, it would be fair to say that our future and that of society are too. “Acts of Cod” is a challenge to reflect on the parallelism of our history with that of cod, the need to preserve ecosystems and respect species, without the rampant saga of mass consumption», highlights Tommy Luther.

Lasting approximately 60 minutes, “Acts of Cod” is a piece performed by Alexandre Sá, Dóris Marcos, Inês Queirós and Sara Santervás, with the assistance of artistic direction, choreography and production by Mariana Amorim, composition and musical interpretation by Domingos Alves. , scenography and puppets by Hugo Ribeiro, videography by Clara Rêgo and lighting design by Luís Ternus and Diogo Barbedo.

On June 8, the session is at 15 pm and the following day at 00 pm.

Tickets cost 10 euros, which drops to 7,5 euros for those under 30 or over 65.

Tickets can be purchased here or at the Lethes Theater itself.
