The Vila do Bispo City Council will support Carlos Clímaco, a windsurf athlete, with the aim of helping him to participate in sporting events to be held throughout the year 2022.
Rute Silva, mayor of Vila do Bispo signed, on Friday, April 29, a sponsorship contract with the sportsman.
The protocol support, in addition to being «a contribution to the participation of the athlete's expenses», will contribute «to the improvement of the conditions of his participation in the competitions that will take place throughout the year».
“In return for this support, Carlos Clímaco is obliged to insert the municipality’s logo on the equipment and/or clothing used during the competitions, as well as to make reference to support in communication actions with the media”, added the Vila do Council Chamber. Bishop.
In 2022, the athlete will participate in a competition in Gruissan, France, called DefiWind, an initiative that will take place from the 26th to the 29th of May and which has about 1300 participants from 35 countries.
Carlos Clímaco has already participated in this competition in 2018 and 2019 and won two podiums (2nd and 3rd places) in the veterans’ category, “an unprecedented feat achieved by Portuguese athletes over the 20 years of the competition’s existence”.
