Vehicle «unique in Portugal» will help save lives in Albufeira

A unique vehicle in Portugal, used in surveillance, prevention and rescue missions on the seafront, has been available since yesterday, the 18th, to the Associação Nadadores Salvadores de Albufeira (ANSA), to help it in its mission to save lives.

Yamaha Motor Europe Branch in Portugal and ANSA «joined efforts to respond to the wishes of the Albufeira City Council, to improve the appreciation of the region as a destination of excellence that is increasingly safe, and with an improved quality of life», he illustrated. «This 4×4 vehicle is equipped with technology for mobility in any type of terrain and allows to improve the performance rates, increasing its levels of effectiveness and efficiency, through the arrival of rescue means to any location and especially to access more difficult", according to the Albufeira Chamber.

José Carlos Rolo, Mayor, welcomed the attitude of Yamaha Motor Europe Branch in Portugal, as “it joins our desire and need to guarantee a safe, pleasant and efficient bathing season for everyone”.

«Doing a good job in terms of surveillance, rescue and assistance cannot be left to the good will of ANSA and its professionals, so they must have the appropriate means», he defended.

According to the mayor, the number of accidents on the 25 beaches of Albufeira, all of them with the Blue Flag award, "is not significant and for that has contributed to the readiness and technical quality of the rescuers", who work in a network with other municipal organizations, such as Firefighters, GNR, Captaincy, Health Center and others.

“We very much hope that, after a severe period caused by the pandemic, the economic difficulties and the military conflict that has been plaguing us for too long, the holidays of those who chose Albufeira to invest in their physical and mental health, will prove to be a success”, concludes the mayor.

According to those responsible for the Yamaha Motor Europe Branch in Portugal, «this differentiated vehicle is equipped with a high-power 686 CC single-cylinder engine, with a sophisticated Ultramatic 4×4 transmission, with three modes, which allows you to approach the most difficult terrains with more confidence. difficult, for any type of challenge presented, being fully equipped for emergencies, thus guaranteeing to its crew of lifeguards, superiorly certified by the Institute of Aid to Castaways, the success in the important missions to fulfill».

The company also mentioned that for “the customization of this vehicle we had the collaboration of “Ex Incendios”, a company that brought added value in the transformation phase, executing them according to the requirements we had for this rescue vehicle”.
