Praia da Galé will host another edition of the “Albufeira Triathlon”, on Sunday, May 15th.
The competition, organized by Futebol Clube das Ferreiras in collaboration with the Câmara de Albufeira and with the support of the Portuguese Triathlon Federation, starts at 10:15 am, with a 750-meter triangular lap of swimming in the sea, followed by the bicycle route , in which the athletes will have to cover about 18 kilometers «on an asphalt road with little difference in level, in an accessible round trip path, repeated three times, returning to the starting point in Praia da Galé Park».
The race ends with the usual two-lap race, on a course of 5150 meters, always close to the beach. The results will be posted at 13:00 pm together with the prize giving.
The competition is open to «athletes aged 16 and over (inclusive), individually or on behalf of federated clubs from across the Algarve region».
Participants must bring their own equipment to the competitions, both for swimming, cycling and running.
