PSD wants to see approved proposals for amendments to the OE related to the Algarve

Proposals are related to the new hospital and tolls, among others

The PSD hopes to see approved the proposals it made to amend the State Budget related to the Algarve, namely those related to the new hospital, with the reduction of tolls on the A22 and support for fishermen, among others, since the «Government cannot continue with the Algarve locked in a drawer».

Cristóvão Norte, president of the PSD Algarve, argues that «it is important that the PS does not crush all the proposals presented, like a steamroller, and disregard essential matters for the Algarve».

This is because in these proposals «the new hospital appears - with deadlines, model and financing to be fixed within 120 days, compliance with the law approved in 2021 with a 50% reduction in tolls - the current reduction is 30%, a fact that constitutes gross illegality; support for fishermen and a reduction in the SEF's deadline for appreciating processes to try to guarantee more manpower, which is so necessary in the region».

«These are all important, reasonable proposals that deserve approval», believes Cristóvão Norte

In this way, the PSD Algarve wants the PS «to show itself available to guarantee these essential advances», noting that «the Algarve was the region most affected by the crisis, with a drop in GDP about twice the national average, a fact that should deserve stronger support, and not just any program that focuses exclusively on tourism as announced last week'.
