Nails and wood take the stage in Aljezur to show that everything is art

Show will have dance, new circus and theater

Screws, wood, nails, paints or cement are not elements that we are used to seeing in a cultural show. But in “Work”, the new initiative of “Lavrar o Mar” that debuts this Thursday, May 19, in Aljezur, they are the inspiration and the essence. Because art «can even be hidden» in any object.

This will be a dance, new circus and theater show.

Ao Sul Informação, Giacomo Scalisi, one of the artistic directors of Lavrar o Mar”, explained that in this “Work”, we can expect everything.

«Claudio Stellato is an Italian choreographer who, in this show, works with wood, nails, glue, paints, cement, machines: all materials that we are used to being used for other purposes», he said.

This is, in the words of Giacomo, a «very well structured show».

«I think it is part of our journey to discover these different artistic objects that show us how art can be hidden behind a shovel, cement or glue», he added, laughing.

The show will take place at the Espaço Multiusos de Aljezur, with four sessions, from Thursday 19th to Sunday 22nd, always at 21:00 pm.

In the end, according to the cultural programmer of “Lavrar o Mar”, there will be a kind of “apocalypse in which everything is destroyed”.

The initiative is part of FIMFA – International Festival of Puppets and Animated Forms and aims to be an “unforgettable experience”.

Tickets cost €5 for children and €10 for adults.
