Portimão hosts National Rhythmic Gymnastics National

There will be no ticket sales at the event venue on both days of the event.

The qualifying competition for the 1st Division Rhythmic Gymnastics National Championship will take place this weekend, 21st and 22nd of May, at Portimão Arena. 

124 gymnasts are expected to participate, representing 22 clubs, with the objective of qualifying athletes for the 1st Division National Championship and awarding the title of National Team Champion in each of the levels.

On Saturday, the competitions take place between 10:00 and 13:30 with the junior gymnasts in the competition, followed by the beginner and junior gymnasts between 14:00 and 20:15.

On Sunday, senior, junior elite and senior elite gymnasts will get into action, with sessions running from 10:30 am to 16:00 pm, followed by the prize giving ceremony.

The city is therefore preparing to host, between the 27th and 29th of May, another stage of the world circuit of the Rhythmic Gymnastics World Cup, which will have the participation of 85 athletes in competition, representing 25 countries, through 38 individual gymnasts. and eight sets.

The competition will take place, as usual, at the Portimão Arena and will be organized by the Portuguese Gymnastics Federation, Portimão City Council and Portimão Tourism Association.

A few days earlier, on the 24th and 25th of May, the same multipurpose space will host the 29th Portimão International Rhythmic Gymnastics Tournament, which provides an opportunity for younger gymnasts to compete in the same arena that will soon receive the world elite.

The oldest event on the national competition calendar will receive 67 junior and 33 senior gymnasts this year, out of a total of XNUMX athletes in competition.
