PSD councilors in the Olhão City Council filed a complaint with the Ombudsman “for the refusal of the Mayor to respond to the request for information submitted on March 10, 2022 on the investigation process of his deputy”, Sérgio Viana.
In this request for information, the Social Democrats question the executive about the date on which the investigation process began and ended, who was the instructor of the process and what conclusion was reached.
At stake is an altercation on the public road, in February, which involved António Pina's deputy, whose video circulated on social media. At the time, the mayor from Olhão went public to announce that an investigation process would be launched and that Sérgio Viana had been suspended from office, despite calling the episode "of a personal nature".
«The lack of response to a request for information made by the councilors constitutes a violation of the Statute of the Right to Opposition», warn the opposition councilors in the Olhão Chamber, who «await the intervention of Ms. Ombudsman in restoring legality”.
