New Environment Minister comes to Alcoutim to release two lynxes

Sidra and Salão lynx couple will be released in a tourist hunting area in Pereiro

Duarte Cordeiro, Minister of the Environment and Climate Action, comes this Tuesday, the 3rd, to Alcoutim, to participate in the release into nature of the pair of lynxes Sidra and Salão, an event integrated in the project for the reintroduction of the Iberian lynx in Portugal.

This is the second pair of lynx to be released in the Algarve, after the release, last February, more or less in the same area, of earthquake and Senegalthat the Sul Informação followed.

Accompanied by the Secretary of State for Nature Conservation and Forests João Paulo Catarino, the minister begins, at 14:45 pm, by presiding over the signing of the Collaboration Protocol between the ICNF and the Pereiro Tourist Hunting Zone, which is followed by the release of the lynxes.

Minister Duarte Cordeiro's visit continues at 17 pm, in the municipality of Silves, with a trip to the Iberian Lynx Training and Recovery complex.
