Luís Costa ends up in the 6th time trial of the Paracycling World Cup

Portuguese Paralympic runner, competing in the H5 class, did a growing race

The paracyclist Luís Costa, who is from Alentejo but lives in the Algarve, achieved this Thursday, May 5th, the best result of the National Team in the time trial of the Paracycling World Cup, finishing in sixth place the individual exercise of 20 kilometers, played in Ostend, Belgium.

The Portuguese Paralympic runner, competing in the H5 class, had a growing race, stopping the clock at 31'00''160. The victory belonged to the Dutch Mitch Valize, the only paracyclist below the 28th minute, finishing with 27'44''378. Frenchman Loic Vergnaud followed, with 29'18''125, and Dutch Tim de Vries, with 29'49''046.

The National Team was also represented in the H4 class, through Flávio Pacheco.

The Alentejo paracyclist was 12th, with 32'05''003. In the same event, but competing as an individual, Carlos Neves participated, finishing in 23rd position, with 34'14''839. The best H4 was the Dutch Geert Schipper, with 28'11''050. French Mathieu Bosredon followed, with 28'19''039, and Austrian Alexander Gritsch, with 28'35''535.

The Belgian round of the World Cup continues this Friday, the last day of the time trials. The National Team will have Bernardo Vieira, in C1, and Telmo Pinão, in C2.

The race for these classes starts at 8:00 am.
