Lagos: GNR seizes weapons in domestic violence case

Suspect “threatened, insulted and exercised physical and psychological violence” on his 20-year-old girlfriend, as well as his family

A 31-year-old man was yesterday, May 10, accused of domestic violence in the municipality of Lagos, having been seized various weapons.

The Research and Support Center for Specific Victims (NIAVE) of the Portimão GNR, which conducted the investigation into domestic violence, found that the suspect "threatened, insulted and exercised physical and psychological violence against the victim, his 20-year-old girlfriend, with who had been in a romantic relationship for about three months».

The aggressor, who “also threatened and insulted the victim's relatives, controlled all her movements, and there has been an escalation of violence in recent times”.

In the course of the police investigations, a house search warrant and four vehicles were carried out, which culminated in the seizure of five airsoft guns, an alarm pistol, a shotgun, a detonated hand grenade, a knife with e-spring, a saber, a club, five rounds, two casings and a single projectile cartridge.

9650 euros, 5 reais, 10 British pounds and 630 rupees were also seized.

According to the GNR, the suspect was made a defendant and the facts were reported to the Lagos Judicial Court.
