The Men's Under-18 team of Lagoa Académico Clube is one of the teams that will compete in the Qualifying Phase for the Final Phase of the National Handball Championship, at this level, which will take place at the Jacinto Correia Municipal Pavilion, in Lagoa, starting tomorrow, 27th, until Sunday, May 29th.
The club from Lagos will compete at home for access to the Final Phase of the National Championship, where they will face Boa Hora Futebol Clube, the Portalegre Handball Gym and Sporting Clube da Horta.
After finishing the Intermediate Phase (3rd Phase) in 1st place, with only one defeat, Lagoa Académico Clube is now trying to reach the Final Phase, to be played between the 17th and 19th of June, in a place yet to be defined.
The event is jointly organized by the Handball Federation of Portugal, the Algarve Handball Association, the Municipality of Lagoa and the Lagoa Académico Clube, and «allows the Jacinto Correia Municipal Pavilion to once again be the great stage for the best handball practices in Portugal, at the youth level», illustrates the Câmara de Lagoa.
This is, according to the municipality, «a strategic modality in the municipality, with a strong tradition among the population».
