A music and word show that brings together the pianist Júlio Resende and the psychiatrist and sexologist Júlio Machado Vaz is one of the highlights of the Fusos – Festival of Artistic Fusions, which takes place from the 3rd to the 5th of June, in the village of Alte (Loulé).

This fifth edition promises, as always, many artistic fusions and confusions, in a total of 20 shows, in 10 stages spread across Alte.

Fonte Grande, Fonte Pequena, Igreja Matriz or the Queda do Vigário waterfall are some of the stages where music, theatre, painting, dance, literature, sound design and a new circus will meet.

Fusos kicks off on Friday, June 3rd, with a music and light show on Cerro da Galvana, visible and audible throughout the village, followed by the moment that brings together Júlio Resende and Júlio Machado Vaz, in a fusion between music and word in “ Life is the Art of Encounter”.

In between was the fusion of bagpipes and accordion from “Alma Menor” and a sound installation in the landscape “Caminhos de Água”.

Mornings at Fusos are for bathing in Fonte Grande, Fonte Pequena or Queda do Vigário and enjoying the village.

From Saturday afternoon, the village welcomes the fusion between music and literature of “A Língua no Ouvido”, the Igreja Matriz mixes the cello of Sandra Martins with sound design by ASPA, acrobatics and theater of “I See You” and “Sopas de Pão” that fuses music, theater and new circus and music and landscape with “Naomi & the Raposeira Dub Collective”.

At night, “Asas de Sonho” combines dancing with painting, and at the end, there is a concert with the Algarve singers “Marenostrum”.

After canoeing in the Fountains and sampling the local restaurants, the Sunday afternoon begins with “Alte e Siga o Baile” – a workshop on local folkloric ranch dances – followed by an unprecedented workshop and concert for traditional Cornish dances by “Alte e Siga o Baile” Davey & Dyer”. The usual Fusada, this year with Mata Bicho, takes the audience to the stunning Queda do Vigário to close Fusos to the sound of “Bicho Carpinteiro”.

All events have free admission. Fusos is an organization of the cultural association Fungo Azul, with the support of the Parish Council of Alte, the Municipality of Loulé and Antena 1.
