The Feira das Velharias de Albufeira takes place again from June at the Caliços Market, on the second and third Saturdays of each month, and at the Areias de São João Market, on the fourth Saturday of each month.
This event is aimed at «the curious and the nostalgic, people of all ages, some to buy what is missing, others to dream of a time that returns in the form of objects», according to the Câmara de Albufeira.
The Feira de Velharias de Albufeira «has its origins in the medieval fairs, where, along with local products and handicrafts, something was always sold that was in demand or when the scarcity of money at home forced it».
“If for a long time it walked around churches, since the 20th century it has taken its own place, in spaces where markets and thematic fairs are held”, added the municipality.
The event is held by more than a hundred sellers and each morning is attended by an average of 500 buyers.
In addition to second-hand objects, you can find here «antiques sought after by those who like and understand history, as well as collectors, from philatelists and bibliophiles».
