One of the most wanted men in the UK arrested in Vilamoura

The crime took place in Ashton-under-Lyne, near Manchester.

Callum Halpin, one of the most wanted men in the UK for the murder of a drug dealer in 2018, was located and arrested this Monday, 2 May, in Vilamoura. 

According to a statement from the National Crime Agency, Halpin, 27, was wanted in connection with the street shooting of Luke Graham, 31, and the attempted murder of Anton Verigotta.

Verigotta was also shot, but despite serious injuries, he did not die.

The crime took place in Ashton-under-Lyne, near Manchester.

Manchester Police Inspector Lee Barrow said the arrest of Callum Halpin was "an important step forward in our investigation".

"We will work together with the NCA to bring him back to Manchester and continue to fight for justice for Luke Graham's family."

According to the Portuguese Judiciary Police, Halpin has already been present at the Évora Court of Appeal and was in preventive detention, awaiting extradition.
