Conference and online conversations end StartUp Portimão Acceleration Bootcamp

Day will end with a networking sunset

The 3rd Online Acceleration Bootcamp, organized by StartUp Portimão, comes to an end this Wednesday and Thursday, 25th and 26th of May, with another set of online conversations open to the public and a face-to-face conference. 

In addition, there will be a mentoring activity for the projects received, in charge of national and international mentors.

This Bootcamp's main objective is to stimulate the entrepreneurial spirit and included a first moment on the 27th and 28th of April, with the talks in sessions open to the public, where various topics were addressed that encourage the development and acceleration of business».

The Portimão Chamber highlights the conference “Smart & Sustainable Cities and the Challenges of Tourism”, which will take place on the 26th of May in the auditorium of the Portimão Museum, with Luís Matos Martins, administrator of the Territorios Criativos and moderator of the works, and José Apolinário, president of the Committee for Coordination and Regional Development of the Algarve.

This conference will have the participation of Bárbara Leão de Carvalho (co-founder of Biovilla and specialist in Sustainability and Tourism), José Pedro Almeida (CEO and founder of XLR8 Revenue Management System), Vanessa Scazziota (professor at ISMAT and researcher focused on entrepreneurship topics ) and Vítor Pereira (co-founder and director of Zoom Global Smart Cities), thus counting on the perspectives of tourism and sustainability, companies, academia and the area of ​​smart cities.

The previous day, May 25, will take place entirely online and starts at 10:00 am, with the inspiring talk “The Power of Resilience”, in which Rodrigo Coutinho, co-founder and director of Data Science at OutSystems will participate, followed by half an hour later. a panel on funding sources, moderated by Teresa Preta, CEO of Territórios Criativos, and composed by Filipe Portela, managing partner of TEAL Impact, José Maia, Portugal investment lead at August One, and Nuno Brito Jorge, co-founder and executive director of Goparity .

The afternoon will be reserved for mentoring the projects, by national and international mentors invited to attend and give feedback to the 12 projects that are part of this Bootcamp, with Francisco Miguel Sousa (Talabat Qatar), Samir Silva (Business Incubator Center, in Cape Verde), Susana Gama Nunes and Luís Sommer Ribeiro (Saveas), Hortênsio Fernandes (Yellow Fish Travel), José Maia (GMT Hospitality), Vítor Duarte (Dualtime), Mariangel Garcia (IBM Consulting), Emanuel Silva (Akxon), Hugo Barros (CRIA), Marcelo Vieira (ABMEN), Jorge Cabaço (Algarve Share) and Martin Eichhoff (Tame Business Solutions).

In the public presentation of the projects, scheduled for 16:00, the entrepreneurs will talk about their pitches to a panel of judges, where personalities such as Bárbara Leão de Carvalho (Biovilla), Pedro Bacalhau (Algarexperience), Maria Inês Barra (Faro Avenida Business Center) and Ricardo Afonso (EVA Transportes).

The entrepreneurs responsible for the projects received in this year's edition of the Acceleration Bootcamp by StatUp Portimão represent different nationalities, namely Portuguese, Brazilian, Israeli and German.

The projects work in different areas, from sustainability, such as YummySmart.com, a digital platform that brings together several options of sustainable and vegan restaurants and products, with the aim of promoting consumption, to consulting, training, finance and banking, represented by iK Finance as a business management system solution, through consultancy and support in the growth of micro and small entrepreneurs, and by Eucoom, a digital checkout and teaching platform that enables payment methods and languages ​​based on the country destination of the end customer.

The social impact and logistics and transport aspects will also be represented, through iK Log, an autonomous digital logistics platform, created with algorithms and artificial intelligence capable of connecting, managing, creating and operationalizing all transport and logistics needs in real time and anywhere in the world, among other areas.

At the end of the day, Filipe Vital, councilor of the Portimão City Council, will speak, ending the day with a sunset.
