Banco Alimentar Contra a Fome is back in supermarkets in the Algarve (and across the country) next weekend, 28th and 29th of May.
This is the first food collection campaign this year, which will take place in more than 140 stores in all municipalities in the region.
Ao Sul Informação, Nuno Cabrita Alves, president of the Banco Alimentar do Algarve, reinforced that, to put this initiative into practice, close to 2000 volunteers are needed, and «whoever wants to can still sign up», through this link.
“Despite the crisis situation, due to the pandemic and the war, a good adhesion of people is expected, with donations, which are very necessary to face the moment we are living”, says Nuno Cabrita Alves.
However, in the year that Banco Alimentar Contra a Fome do Algarve celebrates its 15th anniversary, the collection does not stop at the stores.
From the 26th of May until the 5th of June, the VALE (in supermarkets) and ONLINE (clicking on the site Feed this idea), thus reinforcing support for the poor in the Algarve.
