António Costa will be at VRSA for the opening of the «biggest youth meeting in the country»

Program features a concert by Dino D'Santiago and dozens of debates

The 18th National Meeting of Youth Associations (ENAJ), which will take place in Vila Real de Santo António (VRSA), on the 4th and 5th of June, will be attended by the Prime Minister António Costa, at the opening.  

The opening session will take place on Saturday, the 4th, at 11:00 am, with debates and panels with national and international speakers.

O event program – which has the support of the Vila Real de Santo António City Council and which will bring together close to a thousand participants – also features a concert by Dino D´Santiago.

In the European Year of Youth, "it is intended that this is a moment of reflection and debate on youth participation in the 3.0st century and Citizenship XNUMX, along with the causes, priorities and emancipation of youth generations", says the Municipality of VRSA, stressing that this "will also be an opportunity to envision and plan the future of public policies to support youth and associations in Portugal, with the presence of a diverse panel of speakers - namely journalists, activists, politicians, researchers, humorists and artists – which will help to encourage debate and the sharing of ideas'.

Also at the event will be Marina Gonçalves, Secretary of State for Housing, José Maria Costa, Secretary of State for the Sea, Inna Ohnivets, Ambassador of Ukraine, and MEP Marisa Matias.

The presentation of the event will be led by Fernando Alvim.

The Associative Festival will be one of the highlights of the ENAJ, in which artistic, gastronomic and cultural expression, entrepreneurship and young talent are highlighted.

The event will feature several artistic, gastronomic, musical and dance performances, including a concert by Dino D'Santiago, at 23 pm, in Praça Marquês de Pombal, with free admission.

«It is an honor for the municipality to receive what is the largest national meeting of young people and association leaders from across the country. During three days, some of the main challenges in terms of youth policies will be debated, such as the right to housing or intergenerational solidarity, at the same time that good practices will be shared between young people and youth associations", says Álvaro Araújo. , mayor of Vila Real de Santo António.

During the two days of work, which will take place in the sports hall of the VRSA Sports Complex, the aim is to «celebrate youth associations and their contribution to the construction of more and better local, national and European Youth policies», emphasizes the County.

At the António Aleixo Cultural Center and sports hall, the National Forum “ACTIVA+” will also take place, a moment that precedes the ENAJ and which will have as its central theme «Transforming the Goals of Portuguese Youth into Actions», under the motto «We must take action».
