The biannual competition “Colors and Shapes of Our Artists”, organized by the Municipality of Albufeira, is back – and anyone who wants to participate can register from June 6th to 9th, at the João Bailote Municipal Gallery.
This year's edition chooses the aspiring algarvensis geopark as the theme and once again gives local artists the opportunity to see their works on display and evaluated in the competition.
The event is open to all authors born or residing in Albufeira who work in one of these three artistic modalities: painting, sculpture or drawing. The theme is the aspiring Algarvensis Geopark.
Each participant may submit two works to the competition, which must be delivered, duly identified, at the João Bailote Municipal Gallery, from 10:30 am to 12:30 pm and from 14:00 pm to 16:30 pm, between the 6th and 9th of June.
The works selected by the jury will be exhibited in the same gallery, from 12 August to 16 September.
The three best works will be distinguished with monetary prizes in the amount of 750 euros (first prize), 500 euros (second prize) and 250 euros (third prize), and the jury may also decide to award honorable mentions to participants who present projects of high quality.
