16 years later, Ricardo Pessoa will no longer be linked to Portimonense. The former player and captain of the Algarve announced this Thursday, May 26, that, next season, he will no longer be assistant coach of the alvinegro club.
In a post on social media, Ricardo Pessoa said that his story, linked to Portimonense, «will never be erased from my memory and from all those who vibrated with me and lived those moments intensely».
The former right-back will «look for new professional challenges», although it is not yet known what his future is.
As a player, Ricardo Pessoa spent 12 seasons with Portimonense.
During this period, the captain lived through the best and the worst, playing more than 400 games with the Algarve emblem on his chest.
After finishing his career in 2017/2018, Ricardo Pessoa remained as assistant coach, a position he held until the end of last season.
