120 riders competed in Motocross da Cortelha

The organization of this competition was in charge of the Associação dos Amigos da Cortelha

120 riders disputed, on the 1st of May, the Motocross da Cortelha (Loulé). 

The 65 cc class opened the hostilities, with the winner being Guilherme Gomes in KTM. In the 85 cc class, the winner was Gonçalo Cardoso in Husqvarna.

The true history of motocross in Cortelha was revived in the sleeve that brought together several classes, among them the Classics.

Gerson Pinto (Couple 50) got the better of Jorge Pinela (Sachs). In this class also competed a pilot from the “house”, Edgar Costa, who reached the 5th place, with a Casal 50.

On the women's side, the winner was Barbara Nunes with KTM 85 and, in the freestyle, the first place was Fábio Paias from Yamaha.

In the MX2 class, motorcycles up to 250 cc, Martim Espinho in a Husqvarna 125, managed to win both heats, taking home the 1st place trophy.

In the biggest motocross class, the so-called MX1, which includes motorcycles up to 500 cc, the winner was “El Toro”, in a Honda 450.

With two points less was Ricardo Aires in a Yamaha 450 and at the bottom of the podium, Alexandre Cardoso in a KTM 450.

In this class, the Associação dos Amigos da Cortelha was also represented with the pilot Tiago Santos in Gas Gas reaching 13th place out of a total of 28 pilots.

The organization of this event was in charge of the Associação dos Amigos da Cortelha, with the seal of the Portuguese Motorcycling Federation and support of the Municipality of Loulé, Parish Council of Salir, Algar, Matemativerso, KeraKoll, Secil Britas, Albombas, Sul Moto and União Camionagem de Carga, among other entities.
