Valdemar Coutinho presents the book “The Conflict of Generations Through the Times” in Portimão

“O Conflict of Generations Through the Times”, the most recent work by historian Valdemar Coutinho, will be presented on April 24, from 16:00 pm, in the Auditorium of the Municipal Museum of Portimão.

Published by Arandis Editora, «the book traces the historical evolution of generational conflicts, from Classical Antiquity to the present, demonstrating that this is a conflict present at all times in history and allowing, in a freer interpretation, to conclude that it is a real engine of social evolution».

Valdemar Fernando da Silva Coutinho, born on 17/12/1936, in Gondomar, holds a degree in History from the Classic University of Lisbon and a Master's in History of Discoveries and Portuguese Expansion from the Nova University of Lisbon.

He was a teacher at Manuel Teixeira Gomes Secondary School, Portimão and, after retiring from Secondary Education, he taught the chair of History of Architecture at ISMAT in Portimão (Lusophone group). He devoted himself to research over many years, having published several works.

He actively intervened as head of European Projects related to heritage.
