The Algarve tennis player Inês Murta lost this Tuesday, April 13, in the first round of the main singles table of the Magnesium-K Active Ladies Open, in Oeiras. 

Invited by the organization to the main board, the 24-year-old tennis player from the Algarve, number two in Portugal and 785th in the WTA ranking, performed at a good level and was on her way to victory. However, the match ended with a smile on the Spanish Jessica Bouzas Maneiro, eighth seed and 327th in the world, who after 2h13 won 3-6, 6-2 and 6-4.

At the end of the day, Inês Murta returned to court alongside Spaniard Angela Fita Boluda and confirmed the status of second seed in the doubles variant by defeating Serbian Mila Masic and Moroccan Lina Qostal, 6-4 and 6-2, heading to the quarter finals.

Francisca Jorge and Matilde Jorge, fourth candidates for the title, also debuted at the Magnesium-K Active Ladies Open with a victory, after leaving Portuguese-Swiss Milla Sequeira and British Andra Sutherland, with the partials of 6-1 and 6. -3.

Along the way were Lena Couto/Sofia Pinto (defeat by 6-0 and 7-5 to Baylen Brown/Luca Udvardy) and Carolina Azadinho/Sara Lance (fighted by Jessica Bouzas Maneiro/Guiomar Maristany, with 6-1 and 6-0) .

On Wednesday, a day entirely reserved for the remaining matches of the first round of the singles main table, Sara Lance opens the action in the Central Court of CETO at 11 am, against Miriam Bianca Bulgaru.

Afterwards (not before 12:30), the sisters Francisca Jorge and Matilde Jorge face each other in the match of the day, and closing the action Ana Filipa Santos challenges Martina Di Giuseppe, seventh favorite.
