Portimão: EMARP solidarity campaign helps to refurbish “A Catraia” playground

“A Catraia” will requalify the playground with the help of the EMARP solidarity campaign, in Portimão

EMARP (Empresa Municipal de Águas e Resíduos de Portimão) launched, on the 6th of April, a solidarity campaign to adhere to electronic billing and direct debit, whose proceeds go towards the requalification of the children's playground of the institution "A Catraia", which welcomes children and young people from 0 to 12 years old.

The requalification of the outdoor space aims to “alleviate the negative impact that the residential care context can have on the lives of children who are in an energetic phase and with stabilized motor coordination”, according to the municipal company of Portimão.

The action also «intends to create a more welcoming and attractive environment to increase their quality of life and well-being», ensuring that children «grow up healthy and happy».

Under the campaign, for each customer who, for a year, subscribes to the electronic invoice for the Water Supply, Waste Water and Urban Waste services or who subscribes to the method of payment through Direct Debit, EMARP will donate 1 euro to the institution .

«Currently, around 14 customers, in a universe of 000 contracts, receive their billing digitally. It is urgent to adopt behaviors that contribute to reducing our ecological footprint. Opting for electronic invoicing means considerable environmental savings associated with the paper cycle, printing and distribution. On the other hand, the adhesion to direct debit also makes the payment process more practical and comfortable without the need to resort to face-to-face travel for this purpose», says the company.

«With a simple step, it is possible to promote an environmentally friendly technological update and actively collaborate to help a social cause, such as the renovation of the Children's Playground at Casa de Acolhimento A Catraia» he concludes.

During the last year, the solidarity campaign totaled the amount of 9773 euros, in favor of the project “Tua, Minha, Nossa Casa” (TMN), coordinated by Maps, which supports homeless people in Portimão.
