Military from Lagos Vera Reis wins 100 km race and sets new record

In the “Lines of Towers Running Challenge”

Vera Reis, a Portuguese Navy sergeant from Porches, won the 100 km race in the “Linhas de Torres Running Challenge” and set a new female record.

The Algarve military is currently serving in the Surface Ship Squadron.

«Mother of 3 boys, Vera always had the dream of joining the Armed Forces, which came to fruition in 1997 when she entered the Navy, under contract, in the enlisted category, at the age of 19», according to the Navy.

«Many miles sailed later, the Navy soldier began to reconcile her personal and professional life with trail sports, a modality she discovered during a commission in the Azores in 2015», he concluded.
