Ecos ends youth skills promotion project with a conference

Conference will be broadcast live to four countries

The Final Conference of the EducAction Project, an initiative that aims to promote the social and civic skills of young people, will take place on the 26th of April, from 10 am to 00 pm.

The conference, promoted by ECOS – Cooperative for Education, Cooperation and Development and the Pinheiro and Rosa School Group, will be broadcast live, in four countries simultaneously, through a platform which translates in real time into the participants' mother tongue.

Participation is free.

«This project aimed to promote the social and civic skills of young people, reinforcing the centrality of the school and the community in which it operates and with which it interacts. In particular, work to build a model of inclusive civic participation, which involves all agents of the school community, being integrated into the Aeprosa Citizenship Strategy, through: identifying relevant issues for the community (school and community in general) and presenting solutions for this problem, the creation of strategic partnerships (leaders of authorities and local organizations) and mapping of the territory, and the testing and validation, in the territory, of the solutions found», says ECOS.

The project had three phases of action: the School Labs, developed in two classes at Escola Secundária de Pinheiro e Rosa, sessions where “the necessary steps for a participatory decision-making process” were worked out; the Community Labs; that they followed «the same logic as the School Labs», but in a «community centered intervention»; and the implementation of a pilot solution – with the objective of testing and validating in the territory (privileging contact and online research), the solutions identified in the Community Labs.

The EducAction Project is ongoing and will end at the end of April 2022, being coordinated by ActionAid – Italy and involving the following European partners: Ecos – Cooperativa de Educação, Cooperativa e Desenvolvimento, CRL (Portugal); UC Limburg vzw (Belgium); Asteri (Greece).

This project is co-financed by the European Union – Education, Audiovisual, and Cultural Executive Agency (Erasmus+).
